Pronounced: jee-klek-tiks
The name: GEclectics is a combination of my initials, GE (I go by Genie-Hi!), combined with the word eclectic, topped off with an “S”. Eclectic basically means from different sources. I came up with the name because I know I am not a one-sided person. Meaning, I enjoy a wide range of things in all areas. So, I wanted to share different styles of jewelry, from your average beaded bracelets to pieces that are formed from the tiniest beads.
Growing up I have always loved jewelry. I can still remember getting my first costume jewelry pearl necklace set and fell in love with it. My mother was big on earrings and wouldn’t leave the house without some on. She had stacks of containers filled with them. So, me and my sister had tons of earrings to choose from. When I became an adult, I began my “hobby” of collecting, ok purchasing, costume jewelry necklaces and bracelets. Choosing pieces to wear to match my outfits was so much fun for me. To this day, I will try not to leave the house with at least some earrings on.
In 2012, I got the idea to research how to make jewelry. I wanted to make some pieces for myself. Then in 2013, I had a thought that I should sell my pieces because they were different from what the stores were carrying. I began that journey in 2014, then I suddenly got stopped in 2015 because I had to change my focus to family that needed me. I let that dream sit in storage to pick up at another time. Life kept happening. I went back to school, got my bachelors degree and started back working, while still learning different jewelry making techniques. Some are more time consuming than others. Now it is 2023 and I am excited once again to share my creative side with you all. A new journey has begun.
Thank you so very much for stopping by. I hope you are able to find something on the site you will love and enjoy.
Happy Shopping,
Genie🙂
